Golden infused honey for teas, toast and drizzling.
About this recipe
Cannabis honey is a slow, gentle infusion for tea, yoghurt and toast. Honey on its own does not hold THC well, which is why the recipe adds a teaspoon of coconut oil: the fat picks up the cannabinoids and the honey carries the fat.
Keep the double boiler at around 70 °C. Hotter honey darkens and loses its flavour. With this recipe each of the 16 portions holds about 41 mg THC, so a small spoon goes a long way.

Ingredients
- 5 g Cannabis flower, decarboxylated
- 240 ml Honey
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
Method
- Decarboxylate the flower and wrap in cheesecloth.
- Warm honey with the pouch in a double boiler at ~70C for 90 minutes.
- Squeeze the pouch, remove, and jar the honey.
Questions
Why is there coconut oil in cannabis honey?
THC dissolves in fat, not in sugar or water. The small amount of coconut oil takes up the cannabinoids and spreads them through the honey.
How long does cannabis honey keep?
Like normal honey it keeps for months in a closed jar. Label it so nobody mistakes it for ordinary honey.
How much should I use?
Start with a quarter to half a teaspoon, about 2.5 to 5 mg THC, and wait at least two hours before having more.
